BOTOX® For Migraines
Those who suffer from migraines and who haven’t found relief through traditional methods can now utilize BOTOX® to alleviate their pain. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved the use of BOTOX® to prevent chronic migraines. The BOTOX® injections are delivered through needle pricks around the head and neck. Therapeutic BOTOX® injections are not suited for every person who suffers from migraines, so we encourage you to schedule an appointment at BodiSculpting Specialists today to see if this treatment is right for you.
Candidates For BOTOX® Injections For Migraines
In clinical studies, BOTOX® injections were shown to be a safe and effective treatment for those who have 15 or more days of headaches each month, and whose migraines last for at least 4 hours. BOTOX® treatment reduced the number of days that study participants experienced headaches by as many as 9 days a month. Migraines that do develop are often less severe than those experienced prior to BOTOX® treatment.
BOTOX® injections may be a successful treatment for chronic migraine sufferers whose headaches have not responded well to, or who have experienced rebound headaches from, other migraine medications. Studies have not yet confirmed whether BOTOX® is an effective form of treatment for episodic migraines, which occur 14 or fewer days per month.
The BOTOX® Procedure
Premeasured amounts of BOTOX® will be injected in several precise locations around your head and neck. Locations generally include the forehead, the left and right sides of the head (above the ears), the back of the head, the base of the head (just above the neck), and down the sides of the neck. For most patients, injections are not painful, producing only slight discomfort similar to that from pinpricks.

BOTOX® For Jaw Tension And TMJ
BOTOX® can also be used to treat TMJ (temporo-mandibular joint) disorders and associated jaw tension and pain. When BOTOX® is injected into facial muscles experiencing chronic soreness and discomfort, it often relieves TMJ and jaw tensions. The injections can also eliminate headaches that are a result of teeth grinding and/or severe stress. BOTOX® injections can even minimize lock jaw.
How Do BOTOX® Injections Treat Jaw Tension And TMJ Disorder?
The temporo-mandibular joint is used to talk, eat, swallow, and in many other everyday activities. If the temporo-mandibular joint is displaced or overworked, you may experience severe tension headaches and sharp jaw pain. According to the American Academy of Facial Aesthetics, BOTOX® relieves jaw tension by making muscles unable to engage in the powerful, often unconscious movement of the jaw that produces headaches and pain.
The BOTOX® injections are administered in our offices by our expert staff in Bend, Roseburg and Albany. Most patients see noticeable improvement within 1-2 days of their first treatment. Total pain relief may take up to a week. Contact BodiSculpting Specialists today with any questions or to schedule an appointment.
BOTOX® For Hyperhidrosis
Hyperhidrosis is a common condition that involves excessive sweating of certain parts of the body, including the face, hands, feet and underarms. Those with this condition often need prescription-strength antiperspirants to control sweating, and may have to change clothes frequently or avoid wearing certain fabrics.
Hyperhidrosis can be treated with BOTOX® injections, which block the nerves that stimulate the sweat glands, significantly reducing the amount of sweat produced. Most patients notice a significant reduction in underarm sweating in 4 weeks, with results lasting for more than 6 months. Although symptoms gradually return, results can be maintained with routine follow-up treatments.
