What is dry eye syndrome?
Also known as keratoconjunctivitis sicca (KCS), dry eye is a condition that is caused by a person not producing enough quality tears to lubricate and nourish the eye. Dry eye occurs when there’s an imbalance with tear production and drainage.
What causes dry eye syndrome?
There are several different factors that cause dry eye syndrome…age, gender, medications, medical conditions, environmental conditions and other factors such as LASIK.

Symptoms of dry eye syndrome include pain in the eyes, dryness, eye discomfort, feeling of something in the eye, redness, and sensitivity to light.
How does IPL help with dry eye syndrome?
IPL(Intense Pulsed Light) works for MGD(Meibomian Gland Dysfunction). IPL, when applied strategically to the eye area, can lessen inflammation. The gentle deep penetrating heat can help clear clogged glands.
What to expect during treatment?
A thin layer of ultrasound gel is applied to the eye area. You will feel a warm sensation as the light pulses. Treatment only takes a few minutes per eye. This is a no downtime and low-risk treatment.
How many treatments will you need?
We recommend 4-6 treatments approximately 4 weeks apart. Most patients will need to maintain results by doing a treatment every 6 to 12 months.
